Build Day with AHIP

Join us for a rewarding day of giving back and making a difference in our community! 

The Blue Ridge Home Builders Association is partnering with AHIP for a volunteer build day on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Volunteer Details: 

• Limited volunteer spots available (20 max)
• No prior construction experience is required 
• All skill levels are welcome 

Project Overview:

We'll be helping a local homeowner by demolishing an existing 12' x 24' deck and constructing a new 12' x 12' pressure-treated lumber deck. This project will provide a safe, functional outdoor space and make a lasting impact for the homeowner. 

What to Expect:

Work alongside fellow BRHBA members on a meaningful community project. Tasks may include demolition, framing, decking installation, and general construction assistance, depending on experience and project needs. 

Important Notes:

Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. for a prompt start. Additional event details and volunteer instructions will be shared with registered participants closer to the event. 

What to Bring: 

• Closed-toe shoes 
• Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing 
• Reusable water bottle 
• Work gloves (if you have them)
